今回は鍼灸師を目指した１３歳が夢を叶えるまでのお話。
誰の話だよ？ってなると思うのですがこれは自分の話です。
中学１年の時に鍼灸師という仕事を知り、目指すようになってから実際に鍼灸師になるまでの約８年を振り返っていきます！
- あの時こんなこと考えていたんだな。
- こんな苦労もあったな。
改めて振り返ってみることで得られる気づきや誰かに勇気や希望を与えるきっかけになればなと思います。
第1回は鍼灸師を目指すまでに至った背景をお話していきます。
それでは早速参りましょう！
きっかけ
鍼灸師になりたいと考え始めたのは中学１年生の冬頃。
それまでの夢はプロ野球選手。
小学校の卒業文集にもそう書いていました。
ちなみに小学校時代の通算打率は１割８分６厘。
ホームランは打ったこともないような大して上手くもない選手だったのですが本当になれると思っていました。
小学校を卒業して中学はもちろん野球部へ。
ここで努力を重ねて高校で甲子園に出てプロに！
そんな思いを持って入部しました。
長引いた右肩のケガ
入部して約3か月が経った7月。
夏休みに差し掛かる頃、右肩に痛みが出てきました。
ピッチャーでもない自分がなんで肩を？
そんな思いを持ちながら1週間ほど我慢をしていたのですが痛みは強くなる一方。
肩も上がらなくなってきました。
病院に行くと肩の炎症と言われ、2週間休むように
と言われました。
しかしながら2週間たっても良くならない
3週間、半月、1ヶ月・・・
復帰したのは2か月近く経った9月の中旬
練習している時間よりも病院にいる時間の方が長かった中学1年の夏でした
周りとの差は開く一方
何とか取り返そう！そんな思いを持ちながら必死に練習をしていました。
復帰後の悲劇
迎えた10月
新人戦を２週間前に控えた時に再び悲劇が起こります。
練習中、打球を追っている最中に転倒し左手首を骨折
復帰して1ヶ月も経たないうちに再び野球ができない体になってしまいました。
幸いにも右肩は使えたので少しボールを投げて、走って、あとは病院でリハビリ。
2週間ほどでギブスが取れてそこからさらに3週間ほどかけてリハビリを進めてようやく完治。
気付けば11月になっていました。
本当に何もできないまま時間だけが経っていました。
この時にはプロ野球選手の夢は完全に諦め、野球に対する気持ちもほぼ切れていました。
3度目のケガ
そんな中年が明けての1月。
今年こそはケガ無く過ごせるように。そう決めて挑んですぐのことでした。
膝に強い痛みが…
診断はオスグッド。
膝は小学生の時から何度か痛めていたのでまたか。という感じでした
かなり早い段階で見つけることが出来たので1週間ちょっとで復帰することが出来たのですがやはり心苦しい期間でした。
落ちるとこまで落ちた。
そんな中学1年の期間でした。
新たな夢
1年生の3学期から総合学習で職業について考える授業が週1回ほどあり自分も将来について考えることが多くなりました。
そんな中で芽生えたのは
「野球に関わる仕事がしたい」
という思いでした。
プレイヤーとしての気持ちは切れていましたがやはり野球は大好きだったので、ずっと関わっていきたい。
そんな思いからでした。
- 学校の先生になって野球部の監督をする
- スポーツライター
- スポーツメーカーへの就職
- カメラマン
- 医師
- スポーツトレーナー
などなど。野球に関わることのできる仕事ってたくさんあるんだなと感じました。
そんな中で魅力的に映ったのがスポーツトレーナー
プロの選手とも関わることのできるお仕事
自分はジャイアンツファンだったこともあり、ジャイアンツのトレーナーになったら憧れの選手たちと関わることができる！それめちゃくちゃいい！
なんて不純にも思える動機でスポーツトレーナーに興味を持ちました
もちろん自分もケガに苦しんできたからこそそういった選手を救える存在になりたい。
その思いもありました！
鍼灸との出会い
ではどうすればスポーツトレーナーになれるのか？
トレーナーと言えばATのイメージが強いのですがこれは民間資格。
次はそれについて調べていきました。
無資格でも名乗れるがプロチームに帯同するにはどうやら何かしらの資格を持っていた方が良いとの情報を得た。
その中で見つけた資格がAT、柔道整復師、鍼灸師の3つの資格
中学生の自分には国家資格である柔道整復師と鍼灸師の方に惹かれました。
そして、2つの資格を調べていくうちに鍼灸師の方に興味を持ちました。
- 鍼とお灸で物凄い効果を出せること
- ツボや東洋医学という考え方
- スポーツ疾患だけでなく肩こりや腰痛などの身近な疾患にも対応できる幅広さ
そういったものに魅力を感じ、鍼灸師という仕事を調べれば調べるほど鍼灸師になりたいという思いが強くなっていきました！

ケガとは無縁の野球人生を送っていたら全然違う人生になったんだろうなと思います

それでも夢があったからこそ乗り切れた。
